Cle Elum, which means Swift Water in the language of the Kittitas Indian, is located at the crossroads of I-90 and SR97 along the Cle Elum River. Cle Elum is home to the Upper County’s school system, medical facilities, and Forest Service Offices. In addition, Cle Elum provides services for all of the surrounding areas in the Upper County. Cle Elum is continuing to grow with expansions at the interchanges and many new businesses throughout the city limits.
