Rob has been in the real estate industry since age 13 when he started as an intern. Rob’s company Ewing & Clark East, a REGENT for Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate, was acquired by Engel & Voelkers. Rob timed the sale perfectly, selling in July of 2017 at the height of the Seattle real estate market by an international Luxury Real Estate franchise based out of Germany.
Rob was recruited to join the Executive Management team of Coldwell Banker Bain based out of Bellevue, WA. Bain has approx 1,200 agents, 32 offices, 10,000+ deals annually resulting in approx. $6,000,000,00 in sales volume (#16th largest firm, per Real Trends). Rob led over 100 brokers during his time as Principal Managing Broker & County Growth Manager. Rob’s technology skills were used to help identify enterprise wide solutions to enhance the company’s strategic digital marketing tools for all of its agents. Rob was the Strategic Digital Manager and Sales Manager of the Lake Union, Magnolia and Madison Park offices located across from Google, Facebook, Zillow, Vulcan, Apple and many other technology leaders in Seattle.
Rob is an expert in real estate technologies. His background in real estate branch operations along with his personal sales history is one of a kind. Rob has been directly involved in approximately 770 transactions ranging from $300,000 to $15,000,000. Rob and his team have sold approximately 350 single family homes on Mercer Island. Including 44 waterfront homes with a total of 5,350 feet of Lake Washington waterfront. Rob enjoys the strategic digital touchless real estate marketing that has taken the industry by storm.
Rob is focused on creating clients for life. He strives to make strong relationships and deep connections with his clients and their families. He also assists with luxury rentals and commercial leasing and sales. Rob Potashnick moved to Mercer Island as a kid in 1979 and has a large network of local families and high net worth individuals and firms who consider Rob the preferred resource and expert to call when time is of the essence and discretion is a must. Rarely does Rob discuss his clients or the homes he sells. “This business is all about our clients. If we tell people where they moved or how much they spent, we are violating the basic aspect of our agency laws.”
Also a high school and youth basketball coach locally, Rob is well connected to the local sports community. Having coached with Hall of Fame Legend Ed Pepple at Mercer Island and Ed Haskins at Garfield, Rob has been on the court with the state’s top prospects and coaches for a long time. During the summer and NCAA Open Periods, you can usually find Rob in the gym coaching, filing, training and working with many local players and AAU teams. Many of these kids attend D1, 2,& 3 schools, some have played in the Final 4, and even won National Championships, WAC and PAC 12 titles. Some have even been first round and second round draft picks in the NBA. Many of Rob’s players and their families call Rob for mentorship and support. Real Estate advice is always on the table. Some of Rob’s past players, who have kids and their own families are locally known commercial and residential brokers. Rob has mentored many ex players and supported their real estate careers as interns and part time assistants during their careers. One of his ex interns is a top producing broker at Redfin in Seattle. Over the years, Rob has developed trust and strong relationships resulting in clients who are former Supersonics, Seahawks, Mariners, local coaches, athletic directors, sports agents, financial planners, college and high school boosters and alumni with private and discrete real estate needs. Many of Rob’s transactions are private in nature. Rob is a private sale expert. His motto, “We do not leave money on the table, and I don’t get paid if you don’t make money at closing,” are an essential part of why his clients always call him before anyone else.
Rob is also experienced in commercial real estate having been tapped to lead one of the NBA/NHL ownership groups land acquisition in Bellevue and Tukwila. At one-point Rob had secured over 40 acres of land worth approx. $100,000,000.00 for a new entertainment district and privately held sports arena. Working with large companies, national funds and local high net worth owners, Rob has a large network of buyers and sellers. Rob is known for private non listed homes that are not reported or marketed for the privacy and security of his clients and their families.
Lately, Rob is working with touchless virtual solutions and digital campaigns to connect buyers and sellers of real estate. Rob loves real estate. He has worked with his family in the business since the age of 19. Rob’s first deal was as a dual agent, representing both the buyer and seller of a waterfront home on Mercer Island. In addition to helping his clients and internet leads with their real estate needs, Rob is presently developing a series of national portals empowering consumers to leverage real estate intelligence with the transparency provided by the internet, big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning and algorithms that will forever change the way real estate is bought and sold.
Rob enjoys spending time with his family. In 2015 Rob lost 100 pounds and enjoys living a healthy lifestyle. He survived 3 heart surgeries, 7 totals and makes the most of every day.
