Seattle Real Estate Spotlight: Laurelhurst
Laurelhurst is a Seattle neighborhood located on the shores of Lake Washington and Union Bay. The Laurelhurst neighborhood was largely developed in the 1920’s and abounds in waterfront homes with delightful architecture. Surrounded by the waters of Lake Washington, many Laurelhurst homes enjoy impressive views of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains.
This neighborhood was once home to a seasonal campground for the Duwamish Indian tribe, who called their location Sahlouwil. Laurelhurst was once covered with woods across the peninsula, and had a wild marsh that was an aboriginal hunting and fishing paradise. Today a large portion of this lush area remains alive with native plants and animals.
