6 Things To Do This March in Seattle

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up this March, but that isn’t the only exciting thing happening! As Seattle’s winter is thawing, the first day of Spring is approaching, bringing many events and places to check out! Here are 7 lucky things to do this March in Seattle!

Frozen Franklin Falls

Seattle in MarchCatch this awe-inspiring view before it thaws! Franklin Falls, a 2-mile round trip trek, is approximately an hour drive from Seattle. Despite being a shorter hike, the trails are frozen over so poles are recommended. In the summer, this trail is kid and dog friendly, but leave them at home until it thaws. Make sure you print out your Northwest Forest Pass for parking, the proceeds go to ensure Washington State parks remain beautiful. Don’t miss out on this view-you will have to wait until next winter to see it again.

University of Washington Cherry Blossom Bloom - late March through early April

Seattle in March

Make a trip over to the University of Washington campus for the infamous cherry blossom bloom. Estimated to be the third week of March, the campus explodes in pink and white colors. These massive, centuries old trees will be at their peak for only a week before you have to wait another year. The fairytale-esque trees rain dainty flowers, which help rank UW as one of the most beautiful college campuses! Students are often on Spring Break around this time, so take advantage of the emptier campus.  Check out other incredible spots on UW’s campus such as Drumheller Fountain, the Suzzallo Library’s Harry Potter room, and castle-like buildings.
