Can you swim at Madrona Park?

Most of Madrona’s shoreline is park/beach.  Madrona Beach is one of the few beaches that have lifeguards on duty during the summers.  When the weather is good Madrona Beach has lifeguards from noon to 7 PM weekdays and 11 AM to 7 PM on weekends.  Lifeguards are generally on duty when public schools are on summer break.  Thus, Seattle beaches usually have lifeguards starting in late June and do not have lifeguards beyond Labor Day https://www.seattle.gov/parks/find/swimming-beaches

Can you swim at Seattle Beaches?

Yes, although the City of Seattle recommends that you do not swim when lifeguards are not on duty.  Lake Washington is the most popular place to swim for Seattleites, but people also swim at other places such as Green Lake and Puget Sound.  Puget Sound is much colder especially in the summer when the lakes warm up from the hot weather.

Madrona Business District Runs Along 34th Ave

34th and Union is the center of Madrona’s business district.  The two block stretch has a ton of Seattle restaurants to chose from.  Hi Spot is one of Seattle’s favorite breakfast restaurants and is in the heart of Madrona.  Naam has great Thai food.  Cafe Soleil has limited hours with Ethopiean Cuisine that you have to try.  Bistro Turkuaz has kebabs, kofte & baklava.  Madrona Pub is open to all ages and has American bar eats with an Irish spin.  Red Cow is a great place to get a steak.  Madrona is a great place to get food, but not a late night neighborhood.  By 10 PM, most everything is closed except possibly Bottlehouse that stays open a little later and serves hand-picked wines, microbrews, artisan cheeses & cured meats served in a cozy house with a deck.
